Once in Northern Dentoria, there lived a traveling merchant and his lovely wife, and their four beautiful daughters and handsome son. Being a traveling merchant, Maxwell was hardly home to see said darling children grow up, spending most of his time in Kanemoria, usually squandering what little money he did make before sending the remains back home to his family.

And so, Demi grew up as the clumsy, awkward middle daughter in a small village, learning to help take care of her younger sisters befor she could even take care of herself, while her mother and brother supported them and her elder sister found themselves lives of their own.

Years passed and Demi grew up, and one year her father stopped sending money and was never heard from
again. By then the family had fallen apart. Their mother had taken to drinking, leaving only her elder brother to support the two youngest,
the girls Demi herself had once looked after, and the eldest daughter gone away with her own husband.

This, 14 year old Demi decided, was not fair at all.

So, Demi came up with a Plan.

This Plan was incredibly ridiculous, and involved sneaking around the village for near a month, scrimping and scraping up everything she needed until the Plan could be put to the test.

And when came time for the Plan, Demi gathered up her belongings, saddled up the horse she'd had her eye on since hatching the Plan, and was off and headed in the direction she hoped was Kanemoria to find that no good rotten father of hers, or at least his body.

Demi had not considered how much time it would take to actually reach Kanemoria, or how she would earn herself money to feed and house herself and her stolen horse along the way, but Demi knew she would figure something out. Later. When the time came.

Eventually the time did come, and Demi's slow progress was halted when she, as luck would have it, met up with a traveling family in need of help. Having learned what little healing skills she could from her Mother, she bargained with the family to let her travel with them as far as they were headed in exchange for her help. They didn't know what else to do but to accept, and Demi found herself traveling quite comfortably almost all the way to Norey.

Of course, luck didn't last her forever, and the storm made it almost impossible for her to accomplish what she'd set out to do. But Demi considered Norey to be a step up from what she'd left behind, and worked toward strengthening her healing skills.

Then the tornado came.

Seeking a change, and through a few new friends, Demi contacted Lawrence of Franel and asked to join his group. It wasn't for the journey, but at the time seemed as the best means to get out of a bad situation. Over time Demi began to form bonds within the group, as they went from one situation to the next. It was the first time she had felt that she had belonged somewhere.

After a harrowing time in Atsiria, this group eventually made their way to Floran. Demi had been with them for nearly four years, but after some consideration, made the painful decision to stay behind in Floran to awkwardly build her own life with the help of those friends who had remained behind.

Demi is prone to being very moody and very awkward. When she's in a good mood, people know it; she loves to tease, when she has the chance. When her spirits are up, she can be very fun to be around. When her spirits are down, she can be very glum, and difficult to talk to, as she is never sure whether or not she can trust people with her feelings. She is very secretive, and very clever. She is somewhat ashamed of her past actions, but she can't see herself doing anything differently.

She isn't certain of what she wants, and she is very insecure due to her family situation. Her father abandoned them, and she made it her mission to abandon her family to go in search of him, which in hindsight bothers her due to the sheer hypocrisy. Having that goal taken away from her has only made her feel apprehensive. Without having a constant in her life, she is constantly unsure. Her plans, her family, everything often feels up in the air, and all she can do is hold onto what she has.

Demi is a girl who wants to grow, but can't quite find the means. She grew up an awkward, gawky girl, raising her siblings, and having them look after her. She's pretty good around kids, though doesn't really think of it. She's good at games, and loves puzzles, figuring things out -- as long as they keep her interest. She can get prone to boredom fairly easily, but if she's in a zone, she'll do well.

Demi has grown from a gawky girl to a pretty young woman, though still long limbed and thin. Despite the fact she's had a rough and tumble kind of childhood, she favors dresses and gowns over any other kind of garments. Her hair is long and pink, held back from her face with various clips. When she doesn't feel that she fits in well with crowds, she hangs back quietly, until a conversation interests her. Sometimes her voice can be a little louder than what it should be.
